Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Uve Pirate Lynmoc
Most information online hovered between corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Switzerland.
